WHY US

M Squared Infrastructure is proud to support Melbourne Water in delivering this critical project for the city’s future.

The sewer system runs beneath the Yarra River, extending from Westgate Park in Port Melbourne to Scienceworks in Spotswood.

This initiative involves the construction of an additional sewer line to enhance the flow capacity of the existing system, forming a crucial part of a comprehensive Melbourne Water program aimed at addressing the challenges posed by aging infrastructure throughout the city.

Since February 2022, the project team has established two construction sites at Scienceworks and Westgate Park.

Our works included:

  • Site Establishment – Complete setup of all construction sites.
  • TBM Installation & Wiring – Installation, assembly, and commissioning of pipejack drive machine Lucey.
  • Lighting & Compliance – Project-wide installation of emergency lighting and site flood lighting in compliance with AS3012 standards.
  • Construction Wiring – Electrical infrastructure across tunnel sites, including underground lighting, evacuation systems, construction boards, and test & tag services.
  • Maintenance & Support – Provision of shift maintenance technicians for TBM excavation, assembly, and disassembly.
  • Dewatering & Water Treatment – Installation and management of tunnelling site dewatering systems and water treatment plants.
  • Specialized Infrastructure Work – Design and installation of a bentonite/polymer plant for Bauer.
  • Electrical Asset Relocation – Safe relocation of Melbourne Water’s existing electrical assets.
