M Squared Electrical has collaborated with CPB-JH on the West Gate Tunnel project, working collaboratively across multiple facets of site establishment, tunnelling, and electrical infrastructure.

As the contractor of choice for CPBJH, we have played a key role in:

Site establishment
Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) assembly and disassembly
TBM ancillary services installation
Machinery maintenance

Complete site establishment, including:
Crib and site amenities
300-person project office complex & community centre
24,000 m² spoil shed, bathhouse, and laundry
Installation and wiring of two 15-meter Herrenknecht Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs)
- 20 MVA installed TBM power
- 6 MVA installed TBM services power
Installation and management of High Voltage (HV) reticulation systems
600m x 1.8m diameter pipejack drive – pipejack & slurry plant assembly, disassembly, and 24/7 electrical maintenance
6km Marti Technik Tunnel conveyor system, including loop take-up and overland conveyor systems
Dismantling and reassembly of three Eilbeck cranes (500T, 250T, 40T)
1,100 kW Tunnel Ventilation System
Industrial & potable water pump systems and controls
Project-wide emergency lighting & flood lighting, ensuring compliance with AS3012 requirements
Installation of three 1MVA integrated backup generator systems
Eight 180kW compressor stations to support TBM compressed air interventions
On-site support teams for compressed air interventions
Tunnelling & Electrical Installations
Construction wiring throughout tunnel sites, including:
- Underground lighting & evacuation systems
- Construction boards, test & tag services
Installation of permanent MEI cable ladder & conduit systems
Deployment of site fibre, IT networks, and Wi-Fi systems
Installation of 24 km underground leaky feeder systems and P25 Motorola emergency services radio network
Tunnelling site dewatering systems & water treatment plants
